Tony Frank
Hardware validation engineer with a bring-up background. Here I show projects from my own board designs to automated test benches, and write about bring-ups and debugging sessions.
Oscilloscope view: a serial UART signal transmits the text “TONY FRANK” character by character, with the decoded bytes below.
Projects
All projectsGimbal electronics
Complete electronics for a three-axis gimbal. A mainboard, three round BLDC motor drivers with magnetic encoders and an IMU board, all connected over RS-485. Designed and assembled by me.

pio-fault-lab
UART and SPI on the RP2040 that break on purpose. Framing errors, bit slips or clock drift can be triggered deliberately and bit-exactly, to practise bus-level debugging and to test measurement tools.
power-rail-bench
Automated test bench for buck converter modules. The PSU and oscilloscope are driven over SCPI, a Pico switches load steps, and the result is a comparison of measured values against the datasheet.
ws2812-validator
Optical test for WS2812B strips and matrices. A webcam checks every single LED for red, green and blue and reports pass/fail per LED, because the LEDs themselves have no return channel.
